July Workshop Series
Healthy Futures in a Changing Climate
Strengthening community and healthcare resilience
AGNES WATER | YEPPOON | ROCKHAMPTON | BUNDABERG | HERVEY BAY
As our climate changes and extreme weather events like floods, cyclones, bushfires and heatwaves become more frequent, strong local support systems are essential. Community and primary healthcare play a vital role in keeping people healthy and well.
Join one of our collaborative, interactive sessions, where we’ll explore what’s needed to strengthen health and wellbeing in your community, and how we can work together to build resilience for the challenges ahead.
These sessions are for anyone passionate about community health. Whether you work in healthcare, support others, or bring valuable lived experience, your voice matters.
You’ll leave with fresh insights, practical tools, and a clear understanding of how your ideas and efforts can shape future strategies for health, inclusion and climate resilience in your community.
Together, we will:
- Share what we’ve learned from community input so far, and explore what helps communities and local health services stay strong, adapt and thrive.
- Draw on local evidence and lived experience to deepen our understanding of local resilience.
- Step into a future scenario set in 2035 to imagine what we want health and wellbeing to look and feel like.
- Create a shared vision of a preferred future and identify practical ways to strengthen the role of community and primary healthcare in building resilience.
