Overview

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre’s Resilient Connections program helps older adults in Hervey Bay strengthen social connections, reduce loneliness, and build confidence in disaster preparedness.

Through engaging meet-ups, community events, interactive workshops, and peer support networks, participants are supported to form meaningful relationships while learning practical strategies to stay safe during emergencies.

By focusing on building and maintaining strong social networks, the program enhances wellbeing, fosters inclusion, and empowers older residents to remain connected and resilient before, during and after disasters.
