Grant funding through the Resilient CARE program supports innovative projects that boost climate and disaster resilience in primary healthcare systems and community. This funding targets five high-risk local government areas in Central Queensland: Rockhampton, Livingstone, southern Gladstone, Bundaberg, and Fraser Coast.

Eligible organisations were invited to submit project proposals that build community capacity, improve health system preparedness, and promote sustainable, locally-led solutions.

Grant Funding Eligibility​

  1. Strengthened protection of older people’s health, especially those still living independently at home, from climate-related hazards and disasters
  2. Improved protection of the health of people with disability—especially those with intellectual disability—to climate-related hazards and disasters
  3. Enhanced capability of the primary health care system to safeguard community health — particularly those most at risk — against climate-related threats and disasters

Within the target Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Livingstone, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast.

Projects must be undertaken within the specified LGAs and demonstrate a primary focus on one or more of the primary focus populations.

  1. Identified need
  2. Program design (approach, method, project logic and KPIs)
  3. Sustainability
  4. Feasibility and delivery capability (implementation plan)
  5. Value for money (budget)

CCQ will also consider:

  • Diversity of targeted cohorts
  • Geographic spread/ equity of funding distribution across target LGAs.

Total funding available: $2.3mil (GST exclusive):

  • $1,082,178 million for projects focused on strengthening the health protection of older people, especially those still living independently at home, from climate-related hazards and disasters.
  • $500,000 for projects focused on improving the health protection of people with disability—especially those with intellectual disability—to climate-related hazards and disasters.
  • $735,000 for projects targeting enhanced capability of the primary health care system to safeguard community health — particularly those most at risk. 

Single LGA projects: 

  • Minimum: $100,000 
  • Maximum: $150,000

Multi-LGA projects: 

  • Minimum: $150,000
  • Maximum: $300,000 

Applicants must be an incorporated legal entity or auspiced by an incorporated legal entity. This includes:

  • Primary healthcare providers 
  • Not-for-profit organisations 
  • Local government authorities 
  • Private sector organisations and consultants 
  • Consortiums (with a designated lead organisation)
